Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Customers rave about the freshness of the ingredients, particularly the crispy cod fried to golden perfection. The generous portions, especially with the munch boxes and the highly praised SEA BOX, consistently impress diners, creating a value-for-money experience. Friendly staff contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, making it a spot where returning feels like visiting friends. Families appreciate the kid-friendly menu and the ability to split orders, which is perfect for those dining with little ones. The location’s unique appeal, combined with the convenience of takeaway and delivery options, rounds out the favorite aspects that keep patrons coming back.

Most Disliked

Some patrons note that Fisherman's Square operates on a cash-only basis, which can be inconvenient for those who prefer card payments. While the spot excels in takeout, the limited seating may not accommodate large groups comfortably during peak times. Occasionally, the atmosphere can get noisy, especially in the lunchtime rush when families gather. There is also a mention that some diners hoped for greater variety in the drink selection beyond standard soda options. However, these minor drawbacks are easy to overlook given the quality of the food and service.

Was a gentleman serving when we last visited, that we had a good chat with. But this time, it was a lovely young woman serving, even offered to split what we'd ordered into two separate trays as it was for my two young girls. Price is great, and the munch boxes/specials are fantastic value and we will be returning again!

Asked Google sat nav to take us to the best fish and chip shop in Redcar. It’s a hidden gem of a place, on a corner overlooking the fishing boats all dry docked, rated 4.5 stars. Welcomed by a lovely lady, who was about to close, but still put on four fish in the fryer and some fresh chips cooked in beef dripping. Absolute pleasure and some of the finest fish n chips, far better than Wetherby Whaler.
